This collection contains 2 notebooks of handwritten ornithological sightings from West Roxbury, Massachusetts, dating from 1885-1901, 1 notebook of histology laboratory from 1894-1895 containing detailed illustrations of microscopic biological tissues, and a compilation of Pasquaney nature lectures series from 1897.

This collection includes two manuscripts: “The Song of the Wood Thrush”, typewritten and including corrections in pen and pencil, and three copies of “The Song of the Meadow Lark”-one handwritten, two typewritten. Additionally, there is a postcard from Cobb to his wife, Mary B Cobb, regarding one of the songs described in the manuscripts.
